In addition to the fine artwork created by our members, Alpine Artisans is proud of its performing arts program, 2 Valleys Stage. This outstanding series brings music, drama, and dance professionals from all around the country right to our very front door.

Montana Shakespeare in the Parks
Aug. 1, 6-8 p.m. at the Double Arrow Lodge Grounds:
Join us for our annual night of Shakespeare theater as MSIP presents, “The Merry Wives of Windsor.”

Duels, deceit, and attempted seduction alight in this comedy featuring the beloved Sir John Falstaff. Watch as he tries to fool two clever women and has the tables turned on him instead. Merry Wives of Windsor will bring a night of laughs to Seeley Lake.

 

Repertory Dance Theatre
Oct. 13, 3 p.m., Seeley-Swan High School
Making their first visit back to Seeley Lake since 2013,

Salt Lake City’s Repertory Dance Theater is the nation’s oldest and most successful repertory  dance company. Unlike conventional modern dance organizations, they present you with a diverse range of modern dance styles and choreographers paired together in dynamic and unexpected performances. Their performances are filled with grace and athleticism, beauty and power.

Chinook Winds
Nov. 17, 3 p.m., Swan Valley School
Last here in our 2014-15 season.

Great Falls based woodwind quintet, Chinook Winds, are committed and talented educators who strive to inspire the next generation of musicians and music-lovers. Present in all of their performances is a passion for music, and an enthusiastic approach to sharing that music with diverse audiences. It’s the passion that draws you in... you won’t want to miss a note!

 

Tanya Gabrielian
Jan. 5, 2020, 3 p.m., Seeley-Swan High School Auditorium

Hailed by the London Times as "a pianist of powerful physical and imaginative muscle," Tanya Gabrielian has captivated audiences worldwide with her gripping performances. Tanya is passionate about inspiring new generations of musicians and music lovers in diverse settings, dedicated to community engagement, education, activism through art.



Scott Kirby
March 8, 2020, 3 p.m., Swan Valley School

Scott Kirby is a composer, a pianist and a visual artist. His multi-media stage performance features
live piano music, a spoken narrative, and a video presentation, and original artwork created by Kirby.
Perhaps the most thrilling part of Kirby’s presentation is that his program will be centered around our very own Seeley-Swan Valley. You won’t want to miss this unique presentation!

 

Stringfever
April 28, 2020, 7 p.m., Seeley-Swan High School Auditorium

This live electric strings and beatbox quartet is "a little bit Classical, a little bit Rock and Roll, and
a whole lot entertaining.” Stringfever is made up of three brothers and a cousin who hail from the
United Kingdom. Their programs classy musicianship, comedy timing and a contemporary sound. Get ready for a fast-paced and energetic performance!

are on sale until the end of June. These can be purchased online or by filling out an order form found on the 2 Valleys Stage "Tickets" page.

Beginning July 1, Full Price Season Tickets ($45 for seniors and $50 adults) for 2019-2020 season will be available on the  2 Valley Stage Tickets page using Paypal or a Credit Card after July 1, 2019, or by filling out an order form on the 2 Valleys Stage "Tickets" page..

The most recent 2 Valleys Stage Performance was on
Sunday, April 14, 2019, 3 PM at Swan Valley School.

Gamelan Manik Harum is a community gamelan based out of Missoula, who welcome all who wish to dedicate themselves to practice regularly, play and perform Balinese Gamelan angklung music together. Gamelan angklung is a traditional Balinese ensemble with mostly bronze metallophone instruments comprising a percussion orchestra, as well as accompanying dancers.

Gamelan Manik Harum was established in 2007 by musical director and Lewis and Clark Elementary School music teacher, Dorothy Morrison. Balinese Master Musician, Pak Made, has done sixteen music and dance residencies in Missoula with the group and will be a special guest at the April 14th performance.  All music, performance choreography, and outfits are under the guidance of Pak Made.


The March event featured

A crowd of over ninety people enjoyed the February 10th performance.

A very big Thank You to Citizens Alliance Bank for hosting and supporting an Irish and Scottish themed reception following the performance! It was certainly enjoyed by all who attended.

The 2018 - 2019 Season included

August 23rd - Montana Shakespeare in the Parks

 

The story of a highly esteemed general in the Venetian army, whose life and marriage are ruined by a deceitful soldier Iago. Love, jealousy, racial prejudice and rage make this story eternally contemporary.

 

 

September 23rd - Rebecca Folsom

A singer and songwriter whose music is about liberation. Her songs crack open hearts, inspire hope and leave listeners with a deeper perspective. 

Her work has been described as music that will “knock-you-to-your-knees,” and has also been described as “shining...with lush harmonies.”

October 21st - Awea Duo

 

This duo featured music for the flute and saxophone, a unique instrumental combination. Selections included pieces specifically arranged by saxophonist, Mas Sugihara as well as several pieces specifically commisioned for the group.

January 13th - UM Jazz Ensembles - Boyd A and Boyd B

Two student ensembles delighted the audience with jazz pieces, many of which they had to arrange themselves. The student performers also spent time in our local schools sharing their knowledge and love of jazz.
